The Number of Lightning-Channels in the Bitcoin Network Exceeded 9000

On Saturday, July 14, the number of open channels of the Lightning network (LN) in the bitcoin network exceeded 9000. This is stated in the Twitter account – ArminVanBitcoin.

Within the week, the volume of funds transferred via Lightning channels doubled and reached the level of 73.88 BTC ($463 000)

According to lnmainnet, on Sunday, July 15, the number of open Lightning Network channels decreased to 6168
In March, Lightning Network registered about 1000 active nodes in the main bitcoin network, which was the most important factor for this scaling solution.

Lightning achieved significant growth both in trial and in implementation on the main network, which was launched in December 2017. Despite criticism from some prominent figures of bitcoin, the number of nodes that choose to join the LN network continues to increase every month.
