Thai Securities And Exchange Commission updated the list of crypto currencies approved for ICO or use as a basic currency in trading pairs with other digital assets traded on the exchanges. According to the Commission’s report, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum Classic and Litecoin (LTC) were removed from the list. As a result, the current list includes just 4 crypto currencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP) and Stellar (XLM). The regulator highlights that the presence of crypto currencies on this list doesn’t confirm their payment method status. At the same time, it is noted that the changes won’t have any impact on the companies or investors who work with crypto currencies because the ICO hasn’t been launched yet and Thai crypto exchanges don’t use BCH, ETC or LTC as basic trading pairs. At the moment, there’re three licensed crypto currency exchanges in Thailand — Bitcoin Exchange (Bx), Bitkub Online (Bitkub) and Satang Corporation (Satang Pro), and the only broker approved by the government — Coins Th Co. Ltd. |
