The vice president of blockchain and digital currencies for IBM Jesse Lund expects that bitcoin rate will reach $1 million. He made this statement giving an interview at Think Conference on February, 20th. Answering to the question about bitcoin price in New Year’s Eve, Lund told that he was sure that it would be higher than now. He supposed that it would be about $5000, and forecasted that it will reach $1 million in the future. Lund explained that he likes this number because if bitcoin costs $1 million, satoshi will have the same value as American cent has. According to Lund’s estimation. crypto currency network’s liquidity will reach $20 trillion, at its turn, this will cause changes in corporate payment area. Additionally, Lund also mentioned cooperation of IBM and Stellar startup and the use of its own crypto currency – XLM – for trans boarder payment network Blockchain World Wire. Earlier, IBM reported that it would use XLM as an intermediate currency for payment making. According to Lund, IBM can start working with other crypto currencies because it is trying to create an ecosystem where various digital assets provide payment tools for trans boarder transfers and the users can choose and discuss their preferences in the real time mode. |
