The popular bitcoin exchange Kraken announced its willingness to pay $100,000 for information that would help to find cryptocurrency assets missing from the canadian exchange QuadrigaCX.

As stated on the exchange’s website, since 2014 Kraken has invested significant resources and provided expert assistance to the trustee and investigators looking into the Mt. Gox case. It argued for returning as many bitcoins to the exchange creditors as possible.

The exchange wants to raise awareness about the QuadrigaCX case and draw attention to it. Kraken hopes to help to find at least some of the missing funds.

At the same time, the exchange held a podcast with Jess Powell, during which they spoke about the case and the alleged death of its founder and CEO Gerald Cotten.

According to the exchange, it intends to transfer the information that will help in finding the missing funds to law enforcement agencies. The reward to informants can be paid both in cryptocurrency and fiat.

According to experts, the debt of QuadrigaCX amounts to $190 million ($137 million in cryptocurrencies and $53 million in fiat). This amount due to previously unaccounted obligations may, however, be higher by $6 million.
Earlier it was reported that QuadrigaCX transferred the remaining cryptocurrency to the auditing company Ernst & Young.
