The role of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies in the development of the world economy is discussed in Kazakhstan: leading experts and analysts of the EAEU have come to the capital of the country. The reason for the meeting is the opening of the international financial center “Astana”. Astana seeks to become a gateway to the Eurasian Economic Union, so today the most pressing issues of the EAEU are discussed here. According to the plan, the financial center will open European and Asian markets to billions of people. The future of the Eurasian Economic Union is the subject of many panel discussions. The most heated one is devoted to the impact of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies on the formation of the common financial market of the EAEU. According to experts, the lack of a consistent approach to virtual money will have a negative impact on the integration of the Union. The members of the UNECE believe that it is necessary to develop a common approach to blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies now. There is an experience of successful legalization of mining and tokens, for example, in Belarus. The first step has already been made: a recommendation document defining a common terminology in the digital economy for the EAEU countries was developed. We should add that, according to the forecasts of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the total economic impact of the international financial center “Astana” will be about 40 billion dollars. |
