IBM Corporation will become a technology partner of the Australian government in the sphere of blockchain application. The parties signed five-year cooperation agreement for 1 billion Australian dollars ($740 million). The technology giant will provide automation services to government departments and help with implementing blockchain technology in government services. IBM will also create platforms for protecting and storing Australian citizens’ data. The authorities of the country believe that the future solution of the company will save taxpayers’ money in the amount of about 100 million Australian dollars ($73 million). According to the head of IBM Asia Pacific Harriet Green, Australian specialists will get involved in the implementation and development of new projects. In June, IBM launched a free educational course on blockchain in India. |
