Having announced in May the development of the Exodus smartphone, widely using distributed ledger technology (blockchain), Taiwanese HTC has now announced the approximate timing of its appearance on the market: the third quarter of 2018. The Exodus project at HTC is led by Phil Chen, one of the developers of the Vive virtual reality helmet. According to him, HTC wants to create its own blockchain network, which will allow each device to play the role of an intermediate node and thereby facilitate the process of transactions between owners of Exodus smartphones.
