The Co-founder of Coinbase Fred Ersam took part in financing of a blockchain startup – DIRT. The total amount of initial investment into the company exceeded $3 million, writes Coinbase.

It is reported that in addition to individual investors, such firms as Digital Currency Group, Pantera Capital, Chinese Zhenfund and InBlockchain participated in the first round of investing.

A San Francisco-based startup is working on a protocol based on the Ethereum blockchain that will allow users to compare information from different data sets. The founder of DIRT Yin Wu said that the protocol, also called DIRT, would be released within three to four months. A token on the ERC-20 standard will appear at the same time.

The DIRT startup is preparing a platform for third-party decentralized applications (DApp), developers of which will be able to create so-called registries regulated by tokens (TRC). The concept is similar to Wikipedia, where the reliability of data is monitored by the public.

Note that the company has not yet decided on its token distribution method, but it will try to distribute it as widely as possible.

DIRT is also working on an internal decentralized application, but there is no detailed information about it so far.

Recall that earlier this year Fred Ersam announced his intention to leave Coinbase.
