South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb is negotiating with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand and the Financial Services Agency of Japan to open its units in these countries. According to the official statement, the platform is interested in expanding its business to countries whose governments show great interest in digital currencies and develop e-Commerce and fintech. It is expected that Bithumb Thailand Company Limited with authorized capital of $90 thousand will start trading at the end of October, and the Japanese exchange — in February 2019. In the future, Bithumb plans to expand to other markets. Recall that in late June Bithumb was able to recover more than a half of the funds, stolen as a result of a hacker attack. |
