Update BIP 174 for Bitcoin (BTC) has been just added to Bitcoin’s official repository, potentially allowing the blockchain to support the famous “Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions” (PSBT) in the future. If the protocol works then users will be able to do offline transactions and submit if to the network later.

The idea was welcomed by cryptocurrency community. Alex Bosworth, the author and developer of Lightning Network tweeted that he supports this network development. The protocol is developed by several major experts in this industry.

However, this development has not been voted for yet and there is no information regarding the time when it might become available. The idea is very promising and probably the protocol will be be finished very soon.
