Over the past two weeks, bitcoin has reached record levels. On the Bitfinex exchange, its rate for the first time since May 23 touched the level of $7 820, and on May 24 broke the psychological point of $8000. The share of cryptocurrency No. 1 in the market exceeded 45%, although in January 2018 it had been only 32.6%. Altcoins are still lagging behind: the share of Ripple in the market compared to January indicators decreased from 18.5% to 6.2%, and the share of Ethereum is only 16.33% – this is 2 times less than 33% recorded in the summer of 2017. Some experts explain the dominance of bitcoin with news about the possibility of approval of ETF-bitcoin. In general, the news background is now conducive to the growth of the bitcoin exchange rate.
