The Chinese search giant Baidu has launched the stock photo blockchain system Totem, which will control copyright. The company has already issued crypto-token Totem Point in the amount of four billion units. Totem became the first real project based on the private blockchain network Baidu XuperChain. The amount of remuneration to the authors of photos will be determined in process of validation of the images. The cost will depend on the number and quality of photos of a particular author in the system. When a photo gets into the system, it receives approval and a time stamp. Then the system saves received data. After that, a photo can be used. In case of disputes, the system will help to verify author’s photo. Baidu plans to expand the capabilities of the system. In the future, it can be used to protect other types of content, such as videos. The next update of the project will take place at the beginning of next year. |
