The Casa Node is a plug-and-play solution for running your own full Bitcoin and Lightning Network node at home. Running a Bitcoin full node allows you to validate the blockchain and verify your own transactions. Aside from this, it also increases decentralization and hence the security of the network. The node Jack Dorsey showed off on Twitter is one being sold by Casa for $300, that already comes with a gold membership on the company’s platform, and is already pre-synced to make it easier to set up. Dorsey, who’s also the CEO of Square, a fintech startup which also lets users buy and sell bitcoin, last month backed a trust-based game on the Lightning Network which went around the world. The Bitcoin Lightning Network enables fast transactions between participating nodes and has been touted as a solution to the Bitcoin scalability problem. This news comes around a month after Dorsey participated in the ongoing LN Trust Chain, a community-driven initiative started by hodlonaut to build awareness around the Lightning Network and help expand its capacity. |
